About Me

About Me:
I’m currently 18 and will be attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute this fall to study Computer Science. During high school, I took all IB classes and graduated with a 3.8 unweighted GPA. I’ve always enjoyed school, and I’ve rarely struggled with schoolwork.

Outside of school, I heavily enjoy technology. I do a decent amount of gaming on my computer, such as Counter Strike Source, Warcraft 3, and Team Fortress 2. I also love sim racing, especially GTR2, rFactor, and Race 07. I’m an ex-WoW addict, and would severely like to avoid starting up again. My gaming computer is aging… It’s over three years old and due for an upgrade. But, It was top of the line in 2005, and still is more than capable. I enjoy creating websites, flash movies, computer graphics, and videos. Additionally, I love to play rhythm games like Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band. I can get an “A” virtually any 9-foot song on heavy. I own every PS2 DDR game released, though my favorites are MAX and MAX2.

Last year, I was the student lead of Hilllsboro High School’s InvenTeam program. The MIT/Lemelson InvenTeam program gives selected teams of students $10,000 to create an invention of their choosing. We created a Heads-Up Display for installation in any 1996 or newer car.

This year, I served as a Committee Chair at Oregon’s Model United Nations! In the past, I’ve been a part of GAA and 2nd committee. Additionally, I experimented in Speech and Debate for the first time during my senior year. My partner Heather and I achieved great success, culminating in 1st place at districts for public debate.

Music
Alternative Top 20
Dance Top 15

Primarily, I’m a Trance/Dance/Techno type guy, but I’ve recently grown real fond of Alternative music as well. My favorite artist is Paul Oakenfold, who is a masterful DJ and has released a couple great original albums. I’ve actually bought some of his albums! The horror! Just recently, I saw Paul Oakenfold in concert at the Crystal Ballroom. It was a wonderful experience, though the preceding DJs played a bit too much, and my ears were shot by the time Oakenfold took the stage.

Driving
I’ve had my driver’s license since November 2006 (after scoring a 35% on my first driving test!). I usually drive my parents Honda Odyssey. Yes, its a van, but I love it! I haven’t hit any cars yet, but I managed to destroy our garage door ($700) and crash into a tree (while going 5 mph in a driveway, $1400). I also ran over Rodney’s backpack, destroying a comp book ($1). I got a nice big $1100 speeding ticket for travelling at 110 mph on Highway 26. I have a need for speed!

About Nalk:
Nalk was the name of my World of Warcraft character. He was a level 70 Troll Shaman on Uther. He’s currently retired from the guild Akai Soubi. Prior to quitting, we had killed Brutallus. You can check out my gear here, until Blizzard decides its too out of date. I’ve raided as Elemental through all of the expansion, however I raided as resto at level 60.

Hi Reilly! Long time no see, this is Mr. Supak from ACMA. I was thinking of you as I was going through past years video works, and so I was curious as to what you’re up to, and stumbled upon this blog and your RPI-TV stuff. I can’t believe you still have all the Cuttlefish stuff going - so thorough you are! I’m going through old videos because I’m about to leave ACMA. I’m a father of two girls now, and my family is moving to Florida to be closer to relatives. So, I’m making DVDs for each year I taught at ACMA of my favorite work, mainly just to have, but also to leave at the school library. I was putting together the program for 2003-04 and was watching “Flash-Babies, the Documentary,” and “Bad Dogs” (themed after COPS show). I’m so glad to see you doing so well. I’m trying to go to school again myself, for a masters in interactive entertainment (game design). I got into the program at Univ. of Central Florida. It’s a bit of a gamble, but I think I could do interesting work in that realm. We’ll see. Anyway, I couldn’t help but read all your recent history. It’s fascinating to see life stories played out like that. From your writing style, you sure seem like the same kid. Well, best wishes to you, and maybe we’ll cross paths again. Take care!
